KODEX Financial High Dividend TOP10 Target Week Clickerbird Call, Net Worth 505.9 Billion After 9 Months of Listing
Samsung Asset Management announced on the 22nd that two exchange-traded funds (ETFs) of “KODEX Financial High Dividend TOP10” and “KODEX Financial High Dividend TOP10,” which invest heavily in financial stocks, recorded net assets of 505.9 billion and 208.8 billion, respectively, exceeding 700 billion won in total net assets.
KODEX’s financial high dividend TOP10 TargetWeekbird Call has surpassed 500 billion won in net assets in about nine months since it went public in December last year.
It has recorded a return of 46.8% since the beginning of the year, ranking first in all covered call ETFs, and cumulative individual purchases have also recorded 262.4 billion won since the beginning of the year.
Samsung Asset Management explained, “The main factors that are steadily attracting investment from individual investors are the fact that the option premium among the distribution resources is not fully taxed, and that the proportion of option sales is fixed at 30%, allowing individual investors to participate in the stock price increase at about 70%.”
The ETF will selectively invest in 10 stocks that have passed financial requirements, including the return on equity capital and the net asset ratio of stock prices, among financial stocks with clear high dividend tendencies such as financial holding companies, banks and securities companies.
At the same time, it is a covered call product that aims to pay a 15% annual distribution by selling the proportion of options at the 30% level.
The 10 stocks included consist of stocks with a stock price net asset ratio (PBR) of less than one time, raising expectations for the government’s policy to enhance corporate value and resolving the Korea discount.
KODEX Financial High Dividend TOP10, which was listed in August, also surpassed 200 billion won in net assets in about a month since its listing.
The KODEX financial high dividend TOP10 is designed to take the same portfolio as the KODEX financial high dividend TOP10 Target Weekly Bird Call, but exclude the covered call strategy so that it can keep up with profits when the stock price rises.
In addition, an average annual dividend yield of 6% can be expected.
Lee Dae-hwan, manager of Samsung Asset Management, said, “As the KOSPI has recently recorded new highs and financial companies are actively implementing shareholder return policies such as expanding dividends and buying treasury stocks along with good performance, financial stocks have established themselves as representatives of high dividend investment and policy benefits. Investors seeking stable profits and high dividends can invest in financial high dividend stocks that meet their investment propensity through two types of KODEX financial high dividend TOP10.”
